2017, The First Day Of School

It was a frosty morning and I had to drag myself out of my cosy and warm bed. Making my way down the corridor, I caught the whiff of sausages. Mm mmm! I wolfed down my breakfast and got dressed. Brushed my teeth and did all the normal things I did every holiday morning. Wait. 8:14?? Why did Dad call me up so early?? Then the thought strikes me. It was the first day of school! I climbed in the car and my dad drove me to school. 

I arrived and quickly checked the classroom notice. I was in Karaka. At first I was like “WHAT??!” but then I saw the map. Ohh. It was Room 14/15/16. I nervously walked in. Miss Gordon greeted me and handed me my Designer Profile. I met Mr Robertson and he said in loud BOOMING voice. “GO GET A TOTE TRAY AND DUMP ALL YOUR STATIONARY INSIDE. THEN FIND A SPOT ON THE RACK.” I completed the task and waited until class started. Until someone interrupted me. 

 “Hi Sa!” A voice behind me squeaked. I turned around to see my best friend slowly walking towards me. “Hi Ivy!” I replied. “What are we doing?” She asked me. “First get a Designer Profile from one of the teachers, then get a tote tray and dump all of your stationary inside.” I repeated Mr R’s words. “Ok!” Ivy replied cheerfully. 10 seconds later Ivy came back with a folded piece of paper in her hand. “Now you need to get a tote tray from over there” I pointed to 2 stacks of tote trays. 2 minutes later, Ivy was all set up. We spent the rest of our time playing chopsticks and talking. 

RING!! The school bell screamed as the teachers started to make their way into the triple classroom. Can you believe I’m in a triple class??! With 5 teachers! Wow. That certainly broke my record. Miss Gordon, Mrs Liddell, Mrs Dennison, Vicky and the one I’m dreading.. Mr Robertson. 

Powhiri is a special Maori event to welcome the new students to CSNS. That’s what we attended on the first day. Practically all of it was Maori and I nearly dozed off. Just kidding! I sat straight and listened to all of it. Just kidding again! Ok fine. I admit that it was a little boring and I didn’t really listen much. 

 RING!!!RING!!! The bell rang two times to indicate that today it was inside morning tea. Some of my classmates clambered over ppl to run out of the door. Talk about Rude. Now let’s skip to the last block. The teachers announced a speech. “Now we're going to design the classroom!” That made some cheers erupt. There were 4 groups. Naming/Logo, Moving, Interior Designers and Spaces. Ivy and I chose the Naming and Logo group. 20 minutes later. “Ugh, this is sooo hard!” I complained. Why did I even chose this group in the first place? “I agree” Ivy nodded. Ring! “Oh it’s the bell!” Ivy exclaimed. 

 And that was how the first day went.
